Beautiful Chinese Art Animating Show!

Click the link, then you will see a beautiful 3D animation. The creator is quite incredible to make this!!!  He or she recreated the traditional Chinese painting by using the modern techonology. The fish swim vividly in the lake, and the lotuses curve slightly with the wind. A novel way to enjoy art! So unconventional, so amazing, and I like it!

Can't bear anymore!

  • Mood:

I have not updated this web for long time until I REALLY need a place to let out my feeling.

A new semester, new teachers, and a new start! Nevertheless, after a long and remarkable summer vacation, I totally can not get used to the school life. Too many rules need to be followed, and too many studys need to be finished. (Especially I have to prepare the graduate entrance test for the next year.)  Although I already quitted my part-time job, that makes my have more time to spend on studying. However, that doesn't make me feel better. I still feel tired and sleepy everyday. I still have lots of emotions and worried things in my mind. The thing bothering me most must be a Strict NEW TEACHER. Be honest, I hate his courses. I didn't mention his name because he will teach us at least for more than half year. (Sigh~) I only hope I can pass his course and graduate from such a lousy school next year. I'm even not afraid that I might become one of the unemployment. I don't mind to be a "monkey teacher", and have to please the evil children and teach them English.

JUST LET ME QUICKLY LEAVE THIS LOUSY PLACE!!!

Right now, I somehow miss my friendly co-workers and that warm place. The boss is so good. He invited me to go back and work there after I graduate next year. That is a really happy working place though the pay is not much.

School Sister

  • Mood:

I just received a Email writen by my school sister of the college which I graduated from. She told me a good news. She said she got her score already, 81.0381.  The score is used to apply for the admission of the entrance to NKFUST.

Last Saturday, she went to our school to attend the interview. She said she was so nervious. But there were many FRIENDLY school brothers talked with them. (She mentioned Ryan in the mail. He seemed impress her a lot.) That really gave her comfort. If there is no accident, I think she will be my school sister next semester. In fact, I have never seen her before. She simply got my mail address from the school address book,  wrote to me, and asked some quiestions. I did not help her a lot, obviously. The content of questions the interviewers asked made big change from last year. But she still did it well. Hope I can meet her next semester.

Effects of Technology on Human

  • Mood:

Effects of Technology on Human
by Jackie Hung

Since the industrial revolution, people have established a high-tech world. As John Naisbitt mentioned in his book “High tech‧high touch,” the modern people are intoxicated in the technology. We rely on the technology too much. Hence, when we enjoy the advantages the technology brings to us, we had better be aware of what we might and start to lose at the same time. The effect of technology is the issue that people should concern seriously.

As we know the invention and improvement of the technology is based on people’s need, or the technology could not have existed in the world. If no one used these technological products, the stuffs would be simply garbage. It is human who gets the authority to decide how to use the technology. Therefore, the effect of the technology on human should be examined mainly.

Obviously, the technology changes people’s living style. The technology promises us much, and we live more comfortably and conveniently than before. By using the technology, we stop wasting time and energy on repeating the same work. While the boss asks a rewritten report, we can open the files on the computer and make some corrections instead of retyping it with typewriter. Through the Internet, we can solve any problems oversea right away and win a big case. Because of the automation, we complete our jobs more easily and have more chances to relax. Moreover, we can even change a face if we do not satisfied with it. With the help of the technology, what else cannot be done? It cannot only give us a solution, but also tackle the troubles for us.

However, the high-speed technology leads the modern people to live in a high-pressure life as well. The well-known example is we desire to watch television and get immediate headline news, or we might feel anxious to lose connection with the society. In order to keep abreast of the changing rapidly world, we seek help from the technology and work hard for 24 hours. Compared with the ancient people, we seem to live in a harder and busier high-tech world. In addition, the omnipotent technology destroys our original conception about nature. We can start to see chicks with pink or blue fluffs, but not yellow ones. We can give birth without any sexual behaviors (the human cloning). The rule of the nature starts to be altered.

Technology not simply solves people’s technical problem, but also the dilemma people meet in their lives. The technology brings the improvement and convenience to human and this society, but it causes some problems all over the world, too. After a century, everyone should keep reflecting on the effect of technology that it brings to us.

FLEAS!!!

  • Mood:

Since last week, everyone in the NKFUST has got into a serious trouble. THE FLEAS COME!     Not only the classroom, but also the dormitory we can see the fleas everywhere. Where did the fleas come? It said the stray dogs brought the fleas into the campus. This is quite scaring! The fleas had already stung many people, and that will cause an itching reactions. Everyday, we see our classmates cannot stop scratching their body. No one can bear this kind of itching torture. The most terrible thing is the fleas can be brought with people to everywhere. Therefore, I should say I feel very sorry for the students who lived in the dorm. They said the dorm has also been attacked by the fleas, too!!! They really don't know if they can find a place to hide!  I told this thing to my family. However, their reaction is "Don't bring the fleas to home. I warn you!"

Nowadays, I feel nervous very much. I couldn't concentrate in the class. I also become very suspicous. As long as I feel itching and find my skin had been stung by something, I think it must be the fleas!!! But it might be not... but a mosquito!   (I don't know what the difference bit by a flea and a mosquito is.)

We need someone come to save us!!!

Le Scaphandre et le papillon

  • Mood:

Le Scaphandre et le papillon by Jean-Dominique Bauby
An interesting, though upsetting book, january 16, 2001

Reviewer:  Barbara J. Chaplin from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Canada

This book was written by a middle-aged man who had suffered a devastating stroke. After the stroke he was only able to move one eyelid, and so the book was laborously dictated letter by letter, using the blinking of his eye to choose letters from a computer screen. In the book he talks about his condition, and meditates about his life, both before and after the stroke. It's a compelling read. It gives you insight into the kind of life that few of us would have any access to. It's upsetting simply because you can't help thinking about how you would react in the same situation.
Resource: http://www.amazon.com

I have been long time not read such a wonderful book. It's really a book deserve everyone to read.

The author didn't tell the readers any philosophical concept about life or rules a human should be hold and follow. (I hate a lot reading any book which will  teach people how we could live happily or...They are all boring ones, and so stupid! ) He simply told (or dictated)  his stories to us.  However, after reading, we will learn we should  treasure every moment we're living  now.

Before the stroke, the author, Jean-Dominique Bauby, was the editor in chief of the magazine" Elle" in French. After his miserable change, he can't move anymore in phsically. According to his description, he said he was locked in "le Scaphandre" (the diving bell), but he tried to let his mind travel like "le papillon" (a butterfly). It's sad. How could a butterfly flies freely in a limited diving bell? And that must be exactlly what the author's feeling. He was locked in his body.

Basically, his story should be very upsetting.  No one can accept such a cruel fact that he almost became a vegetable.   However, when we read his work, we hardly felt his unhappiness. It's an interesting book.  In this book, the sagment impressed me the most must be Jean-Dominique told how he communicate with people by blinking his eyelid to choose letters. Of course this kind of communication way is very slow and difficult. But He tried to be humor. Jean-Dominique thought this kind of communication sometime made  beautiful mistakes. Once he asked his "lunette" (his glasses), but the listener asked "You want 'la lune' (the moon)  for what?"    Com'n! Jean just hadn't finished spelling his sentence... This is a funny mistake. But we will consider if everyone will ignore others' opinion so easily?  Shouldn't we be patient and wait others to express their opinions?

No more words, this is a book everyone should read. There are many stories in the books which indicate us to reflect our life and  the way we're living. I love this book so much!

十面埋伏(Lovers)

officialsite: http://www.warnerbros.co.jp/lovers/
Links: http://yule.sohu.com/7/1103/86/column215988608.shtml

十面埋伏(Lovers), the movie I have looked foward to see recently. July 16, it will be broadcasted in Taiwan. After looking some photos and trailers on webs or TV. I can't stop myself to screaming for excitement at home. The scene is beautiful. The actors and actress are so attractive. Epsecially, the most important part is their fighting!!! I can't understand why the characters can alsways look so incredible charming even thought they are fighting. I don't know I want to see the movie for what reasons. The plot of the movie? Or the handsome and pretty characters? Although I had been  once cheated by the famous director, Zhang Yimou(I'm really disappointed about his previous work, Hero.), I will still buy ticket, go to the movie theatre and see his movie. It couldn't be worse than the last movie, I think. At least, this time, the characters are well selected. Moveover, according to its English translated name, there must be some love story happend between these three main characters. The story seems more organized. I really have high expectation to this movie and the coming summer vacation right now...
But before that, I have to pass my final exam first.

my new web

  • Mood:

Because I need a grade for my midterm exam, I set up a new website with MS frontpage.
The url is :
http://www2.nkfust.edu.tw/~u9231311
(Selena, thanks for your compliment!) Sincerely invite your to visit my web!The text is about the Peanuts, one of the most famous strip comics in the world. I had worked for a week to finish my web. However, it still need some improvements. I think I will make some changes in the final exam. In fact, this is not my first time to set up a website. I had ever set another website for a TV sit-com. "Friends" I love this sit-com a lot. I feel sorry for its ending at 10th season in America. But everything will go to the end one day. It's a certainty. But that's another story.

About my website, if you don't know what Peanuts is, you should know the main characters Snoopy and his host Charlie Brown. I'm not sure. But I think usually, the children don't like Snoopy very much. The adults like it more. I had once met a child. When she saw me take out  my penbox printed the Snoopy figure, she asked "Why does everyone like Snoopy?" She said her mother always bought her a lot of Snoopy stuffs, but she doesn't like it at all! I can understand her feeling.  I had the same question when I was young. Because Snoopy is a weird dog, it's hard for a kid to understand its extraordinary opinion and behavior. Especially, at my early age, I even hardly see  any comics or cartoons about Snoopy in Taiwan. (We all know Snoopy is an American dog.) For me, I got to know snoopy at my age 13 when I started to learn English.  I was also old enough to understand Snoopy's daydream at that time. I don't know if others get the same feeling as I do. But I like to watch Snoopy live as he is. That is what I always want to do. Also, the creator of Snoopy, Mr. Schulz,  always drew his comics with some philosophical viewpoint. The Charlie Brown's never getting up kicking ball taught people one things. If you met difficulty, never give up so easily, and you should try to solve the difficulty again and again. I think Peanuts is really a wonderful comics to read. Every time I can read different opinions from it. All the characters of Peanuts, I like Linus the most (the boy with his security blanket). He is so cute!

My weekend...

  • Mood:

Finally, the mid-term exam finished, and I fooled around during this weekend. Now, I feel guilty. In fact, I still have lots of homework need to do, but I just left it there and did not think about it. (It's weekend!)If my groupmembers know I did nothing for the group presentation of next weekend, they must want to kill me. Therefore, that is why I work hardly now. I just want to say. What a hell! Why do I nearly have to present every other week?

Imagination? I do not have it!
And my composition.....
